A Unique Place
We host weddings and receptions from April to September each year. All proceeds from weddings go toward the maintenance of Usk Castle for future generations to enjoy, so in booking your wedding at Usk Castle, you are helping preserve an ancient monument.
Licenced Areas
From a Humanist celebration in the place of your choice, or a blessing in the open-air Chapel of St. George, we are happy to accommodate your requests where we can for a maximum of up to 160 guests.
There are five licenced locations for marriage and we also offer open air marriage ceremonies.

What We Provide
We provide the dry hire of the venue (water, power and loos) and you then have complete flexibility to arrange your day, hiring registrar, marquees, caterers and decorating the venue as required.

Cruck Frame Hall
New for 2022 is the Cruck Frame Hall, a timber framed marquee within the walls of the Banqueting Hall. Hand crafted from timber grown our own woods, this provides a dance floor space and can also be used for ceremonies, you can view a walk through video of the area here, but it is really best viewed in person.

Bear in mind that we do not book up every weekend with weddings as Usk Castle is a private family home, and we have a limit to the number of events we can host. We also need to allow rest weekends for grass to recover between events.
FAQ
We are a dry hire venue- we provide lighting, power, loos and water- you hire the rest to suit your day.
We can send a check list to help plan, but things to consider are a registrar, caterer, marquee, band etc.
On the day we assist with parking, signage, meeting registrars and are onsite throughout your event to make sure it runs smoothly.
All proceeds from weddings go to castle maintenance.
Please contact events@uskcastle.com to request a venue viewing. Once you have decided that we are the venue for your special day we request completion of a booking form and 25% deposit. The remainder to be paid 2 months before your event.
We allow photo shoots for wedding couples who are married elsewhere but want some photos in a beautiful setting (as long as it doesn’t clash with an existing wedding). These must be pre booked and paid for by contacting events@uskcastle.com.

We can host ceremonies in the tithe barn for up to 120 guests, and now have a covered area in the banquetting hall for dancing or a ceremony of 100 guests. Alternatively you could seat 100 for dinner here.
The venue is otherwise an open air ruin so those using the castle for their reception usually hire a marquee.
Only natural petals please and on hard standing so it can be swept up. Even biodegradable paper takes weeks to break down and can look untidy for other couples and visitors.
We like to support our fellow local businesses. We have a list of recommended suppliers which we can provide. We do not dictate who you should use however we request that new suppliers visit to meet us and view the access to make sure it suits their transportation and equipment.
