LLanfoist Village Hall first opened in 2006.  It was built after a long campaign by local people to have a modern community hall.  It took 10 years to fund raise, get plans agreed and set permissions in place.  The hall was formally opened by the children of Llanfoist and pictures of the event are on display in the hall foyer.  Since then many local people have volunteered their time to operate the hall, maintain high building environment standards and develop the space as funds allow.  In 2025, with the help of Welsh Government, we undertook a major redevelopment of external areas with the aim of improving access to the hall for everyone.

Our Story

The hall is operated by the Trustees, officers and volunteers of a registered Charity, Llanfoist Village Hall. The management team live locally, have a genuine wish to volunteer their time and skills supporting their community.  The hall exists for the benefit of the local community, it has to pay its way as we do not receive any financial support from local government.  We work closely with Llanfoist Fawr Community Council for the benefit of our local community.

Our aim

We aim to provide bright, clean and safe multi-functional spaces at an affordable hourly rate.  Local small nonprofit groups can apply for a cost rate.  Commercial bookings are charged at a competitive hourly rate.  In addition the management committee organise many events over the year.  These range from Quiz Evenings, a monthly Film Night, Spring and summer fairs, local people community evenings and ending with events over Halloween and Christmas.
